Accessibility
Nearest accessible parking is located in Church Street Garage and surface parking is available on the Pleasant Street side of the building. University Parking and Transportation Services provides up-to-date information about transit options, biking, parking, and other campus transportation needs.
There are four building entrances. The wheelchair accessible entrance is located on the Pleasant Street side of the building, with the ramp entrance near Johnston Hall. There is also an entrance from Northrop Mall. There are two additional entrances on the Basement Level from the tunnels between Johnston and Smith Halls.
Central elevators access levels 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5; front elevator accesses levels B, 1, and 2; library elevator access levels F, S, B, and 2.
Restrooms
Restrooms are on each floor near the central elevators.
All-gender restrooms can be found in the sub-basement, room S6, and the foundation floor, room F6.

Breakerspace
A free-to-use, student run makerspace providing access to a variety of hands-on tools and materials such as craft kits, a sewing machine, 3D printer, button makers, VR Headsets, and more. All majors, years, and skill levels welcome.
Coffee shop
Located in the basement of Walter Library, offering coffee, tea, and snacks, with nearby tables for study or relaxation. Search Dine on Campus UMN for current hours and details.
The Upson Room
The Arthur Upson Room was a gift to the University of Minnesota as a memorial to Arthur Upson, an alumnus of the University and a lecturer in the English Department. It is reservable under special conditions.

Microform collection
We have over 350,000 documents in 18 cabinets that have been reproduced as microfilm or microfiche for high-efficiency storage. They can be viewed and scanned using the scanner located on the north wall of the foundation level (level F) of Walter Library.

Walter Library holds standards, which serve as a common language for engineers, designers and manufacturers, providing information to define quality and safety criteria; outline test methods and performance requirements; and provide rules and guidelines
