1:Button Studios
The 1:Button Studios are fully automated HD video recording spaces with professional studio lighting and sound equipment. They are set up to record high-quality video projects without any knowledge of lights and cameras.
About the 1:Button Studios
- The studios are free to all U of M faculty, students, and staff.
- Studios are located in the Health Sciences Library, Magrath Library, Walter Library, and Wilson Library. Hours vary by location.
- If you need to modify an existing reservation, please use the link provided in your confirmation email, or contact any of our 1:Button Studio locations for assistance.
- The studio may be booked for up to 4 hours at a time. Claim your reservation within 15 minutes, or your reservation may be canceled and other users allowed to study in the space.
Health Science Library 1:Button Studios
About the space
The camera frame, microphone, and lights are fixed to record 1-2 people at the studios' tables (mixture of sitting and standing). Studios 5-140, 5-142, and 5-144 are slightly smaller than studios 5-161,5-163, and 5-163.
The studios generally provide a deep quiet atmosphere for recordings where audio quality is critical.

Magrath Library 1:Button Studio
About the space
The camera frame, microphone, and lights are fixed to record 1-2 people at the studio's standing-height table. Stools are available.
Recordings may occasionally pick up ambient sounds from within the library.

The studio is located in room 240 of Walter Library on the Twin Cities East Bank Campus. Get directions to Walter Library.
Stop by the Information Desk on the 2nd floor (in the Great Hall) at your reservation time, and request to check out a Walter 1:Button keycard. Then walk over to the hallway on the west side. Take a left and continue on to your left around two corners. Walter 240 will be on your left. Scan the keycard against the card reader to unlock the room.

Accessing the studio
The studios are located on the basement level of Wilson Library in the Tutoring and Academic Success Center. Wilson Library is on the West Bank of the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities campus.
